Dear users,
A maintenance notice as of January, 2016.
[Maintenance]
Date: January 4, 2015 (Mon) 9:00 -- 21:00 (JST)
ADC analysis system is unavailable due to the periodic maintenance.
Open-use PCs and plotters are partially available during the maintenance.
- Attention:
A periodic data deletion of /mfst04b partition may not finish in
the period because there are a lot of deletion target data.
Users are able to use all capability of ADC data analysis system
after the maintenance window, however, a performance of /mfst04b
may decline for a while because of the data deletion process.
[Year ends and New Year holidays]
Please understand that operators do not deal with any trouble of
year ends and New Year holidays.
Dec 29 (Tue), 2015 -- Jan 3 (Sun), 2016
- The operators will be stationed until Dec 25 (Fri), 2015.
Servers, workstations, open-use PCs and plotters are available during
the period.

[Periodic data deletion]
The periodic data deletion in the local and the NFS disk area is
executed during a monthly maintenance.
We strongly recommend that you make backups of any important data.

/wam* : 4 weeks passed (on "ctime")
/wah* : 2 weeks passed (on "ctime")
/mfst*: 6 months passed (on "ctime")
Please note that the periodic data deletion of /mfst* partitions is
executed during monthly maintenance.

- About use of computer resources
We are checking whether or not users are hogging computer resources
(CPU core, memory etc.) for a long time.
The prolonged occupation of computer resources may cause a disturbance
to other users' work, mostly due to concurrent heavy processing on
servers.
To avoid the above situation we will provide a warning to users.
In addition, please consider using a batch processing system and check
the current status of the server to avoid causing server over-use.
We will warn users exceeding restrictions on the quantity of the disk
space used.

- NFS file system improvements
We try to improve the performance of the NFS file system (/mfst*
partitions) continuously. Please contact us when you feel something is
wrong with the NFS file system.
- Network access control improvements
We are improving the setting of the network access control on the
open-use computers and environment, continuously.

多波長データ解析システム ユーザの皆様
2016年1月度の定期メンテナンス関連事項を連絡いたします。
[メンテナンス]
日時：2016年1月4日(月) 9:00 -- 21:00 (日本時間)
サーバ・ワークステーション 停止 (定期メンテナンス)
ユーザの方々にはご迷惑をおかけしますが、宜しくお願いいたします。
共同利用PC と大判プリンタの一部は、メンテナンス中も利用可能です。
※注意：
/mfst04b 領域において、定期削除の候補データ量が多いため、
上記の時間内に削除処理が終了しない可能性があります。
メンテンナンス時間後は、通常通り解析システムを利用できますが、
同領域においては定期データ削除処理が続いているため、一時的に
パフォーマンスが劣化する可能性があります。ご了承ください。
[年末年始の運用について]
下記の期間、多波長データ解析システムおよび、共同利用機器類
（共同利用PC, プリンターなど）は休日対応といたします。
年末年始期間：2015年12月29日(火) 〜 2016年1月3日(日)
※オペレータの常駐は、2015年12月25日(金)まで
上記期間中もシステム運用はいたしますが、トラブル対応は出来かねますので、
ご了承下さい。

[定期データ削除の実施について]
毎月のメンテナンス時に、解析サーバ群のローカルディスクおよび、
NFS ディスク領域の定期データ削除を実施します。
重要なファイルはバックアップを取ることを強く推奨いたします。
（削除対象ファイル）
/wam* : 4 週間経過 (ctime で判別)
/wah* : 2 週間経過 (ctime で判別)
/mfst*: 6 か月経過 (ctime で判別)
※今後は /mfst* 領域も毎月のメンテナンスで定期削除を実行します。

[ご連絡]
・計算機リソースの使用について
対話型解析サーバ (anam*, anah*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU,
メモリ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。
そのような状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理集中による
サーバ等への不具合の原因になりますので、当該ユーザに対して注意／警告
等を出す場合があります。また、そのような事態を避けるために、バッチ
システムの利用や、リソース使用状況の確認をお願いいたします。
なお、ディスク使用量上限を超えたユーザに対しても、注意／警告を出して
いきますので、ご注意ください。
