This is a reminder of the maintenance of January 2019 (Jan 21).

Dear users,
A maintenance notice as of January, 2019.
[Maintenance]
Date: January 21, 2019 (Mon) 9:00 -- 21:00 (JST)
The periodic maintenance is performed on
"Once in three months" and "Third Monday" from JFY2018.
Servers and workstations are unavailable during the maintenance.
Open-use PCs and plotters are partially available.
- The analysis system will be available as soon as the maintenance
finished.
[Periodic data deletion]
The periodic data deletion in the local and the NFS disk area is
executed in the periodic maintenance.
(Delete target files)
/wk* (Local disk) : 3 months passed (on "ctime")
/lfs* (NFS disk) : 12 months passed (on "ctime")
- We strongly recommend that you make backups of any important data.

The periodic data deletion is in preparation.
Therefore, the data deletion is not executed in the maintenance
of January, 2019.

and terminal WS, unless otherwise stated.

VPN update
Support OS of VPN after the update
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 (32bit/64bit)
- macOS 10.12, 10.13, and 10.14 (*)
- Linux Red Hat 6, 7
Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) , 16.04 (LTS), and 18.04 (LTS) (64bit only)
- NOTE: macOS 10.11 unsupported after the update.
Some software installation is in preparation.
We will inform later for the details.
[Note]
About use of computer resources
We are checking whether or not users are hogging computer resources
(CPU core, memory etc.) for a long time.
The prolonged occupation of computer resources may cause a disturbance
to other users' work, mostly due to concurrent heavy processing on
servers.
To avoid the above situation we will provide a warning to users.
In addition, please consider using a batch processing system and check
the current status of the server to avoid causing server over-use.

多波長データ解析システム ユーザの皆様
2019年1月度の定期メンテナンス関連事項を連絡いたします。
[メンテナンス]
日時：2019年1月21日(月) 9:00 -- 21:00 (日本時間)
なお、2018年度以降の定期メンテナンスは「3か月に1回」、
また「第3月曜日」実施に変更になります。
メンテナンス中はサーバ・ワークステーション等が停止します。
また、データセンターのウェブページも閲覧不可になります。
なお、共同利用PC と大判プリンタの一部は、メンテナンス中も利用可能です。
※メンテナンス作業が終了次第、システムは利用可能になります。
[定期データ削除]
毎回の定期メンテナンス時に、解析サーバのローカルディスク、
および NFS ディスク領域の定期データ削除の実施を検討しております。
（削除対象ファイル）
/wk* (ローカル)： 3ヶ月経過 (ctime で判別)
/lfs* (NFS 領域)：12か月経過 (ctime で判別)
※重要なファイルはバックアップを取ることを強く推奨いたします。

ただし、まだ定期データ削除作業は準備中ですので、
2019年1月度メンテナンスでは、データ削除を実施しません。

※特に記載が無い限り、全ての対話型／バッチ解析サーバ・端末WSが対象です。

・VPN アップデート
アップデート後のVPNサポートOSは以下の通り
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 (32bit/64bit)
- macOS 10.12, 10.13, and 10.14
- Linux Red Hat 6, 7
Ubuntu 14.04 (LTS) , 16.04 (LTS), and 18.04 (LTS) (64bit のみ)
※注意：今回のアップデート後、macOS 10.11 がサポート外になります。
いくつかのソフトウェアについて、インストールを準備・検討中です。
詳細は後日連絡いたします。
[注意点]
計算機リソースの使用について
対話型解析サーバ (kaim*, kaih*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU,
メモリ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。
そのような状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理集中による
サーバ等への不具合の原因になりますので、当該ユーザに対して注意／警告
等を出す場合があります。また、そのような事態を避けるために、バッチ
システムの利用や、リソース使用状況の確認をお願いいたします。
