A maintenance notice as of July, 2017.


[Maintenance]
Date: July 3, 2017 (Mon) 9:00 -- 21:00 (JST)

ADC analysis system is unavailable due to the periodic maintenance.
Open-use PCs and plotters are partially available during the maintenance.
* The analysis system will be available as soon as the maintenance
finished.


[About restart of periodic data deletion]
We will restart the periodic data deletion on a maintenance of
August 2017 (August 7) as the previous announcement.

* A batch queue script making support tool.
Execute "qsub-make" command, script of PBS (queue management system) is
made interactively.


(Correction)
Web browsers will be corrected because of changing the update policy of
the browsers.

- Google Chrome will be uninstalled because of stopping the update on
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6).

- Adobe Flash Player (on Firefox) will be installed because of
restarting the support on RHEL6.

When you would like to use Flash on a browser, you should use Firefox
after the maintenance of July 2017.



[Note]
About use of computer resources
We are checking whether or not users are hogging computer resources
(CPU core, memory etc.) for a long time.

The prolonged occupation of computer resources may cause a disturbance
to other users' work, mostly due to concurrent heavy processing on
servers.

To avoid the above situation we will provide a warning to users.
In addition, please consider using a batch processing system and check
the current status of the server to avoid causing server over-use.

We are progressing the replace of the computer system at present.

2017年7月度の定期メンテナンス関連事項を連絡いたします。


[メンテナンス]

サーバ・ワークステーション 停止 (定期メンテナンス)
ユーザの方々にはご迷惑をおかけしますが、宜しくお願いいたします。
共同利用PC と大判プリンタの一部は、メンテナンス中も利用可能です。
※メンテナンス作業が終了次第、システムは利用可能になります。


[定期データ削除の再開について]
先日アナウンスさせて頂きました通り、2017年8月度メンテナンス
（2017年8月7日 実施予定）から、定期データ削除を再開いたします。

　※バッチキューのスクリプト作成の支援ツールになります。
　　"qsub-make"と実行すると、対話形式で PBS (キューイングシステム) の

（修正）
ウェブブラウザ群を修正・整理いたします。これは、各ブラウザのアップデート
方針に変更があったためです。

・Google Chrome の使用を停止（アンインストール）します。
　これは、Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6) において、
　今後 Google Chrome のアップデートが行われないためです。

・Firefox で使用できる Adobe Flash Player をインストールいたします。
　これは、RHEL6 における Adobe Flash Player のサポートが再開したためです

2017年7月度メンテナンス以降、ブラウザ上で Flash を利用したい場合は、
Firefox を使うようにしてください。



[注意点]
計算機リソースの使用について
対話型解析サーバ (anam*, anah*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU,
メモリ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。

そのような状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理集中による
サーバ等への不具合の原因になりますので、当該ユーザに対して注意／警告
等を出す場合があります。また、そのような事態を避けるために、バッチ
システムの利用や、リソース使用状況の確認をお願いいたします。
