Dear users,
We inform about a maintenance of July, 2014.
[Maintenance]
Date: July 7, 2014 (Mon) am 9:00 -- July 8 (Tue) am 9:00 (24 hours)
Note: Suspension of user login during the maintenance.
ADC analysis system is unavailable for the periodic maintenance.
A part of the open-use PCs and plotters are available during the
maintenance.
[Software Install/Update, Correction/Improvement]
Install/Update and Correction/Improvement to All analysis servers
and terminal WS, unless otherwise stated.
(Correction/Improvement)
- NFS disk response (reaction delay) correction
NFS servers will be corrected in the maintenance of July.
Please contact us when you feel something wrong with the NFS file
system.
- SSL certificate update in VPN servers
SSL certificate in VPN servers of the analysis system will be updated
for security enhancement.
Please contact us when you feel something wrong with the VPN system.
- Correction of STSDAS/TABLES (IRAF 2.16.1)
Correction of symbolic links.
- Network access control on Open-use PCs
We will set up the network access control to open-use PCs (Windows and
Mac) in each open-use room. After the setting, you cannot access
webpages for NAOJ staff using the open-use PCs.
(Install/Update)
- MCSRED (Software) update (20120515 -> 20130520)
The old version (20120515) is available, continuously.

[Periodic data deletion]
The periodic data deletion in the local and the NFS disk area is
executed in monthly maintenance.
We strongly recommend to make backups of your important data.

/wam*: 4 weeks passed (on "ctime")
/wah*: 2 weeks passed (on "ctime")
/mfst*: 6 months passed (on "ctime")
Start periodic data deletion for NFS disk (/mfst*)
We start the periodic data deletion for the NFS disks (/mfst*
partitions) from the maintenance of July.
We strongly recommend to make backups of your important data.

- About use of computer resources
We are checking that users occupy many computer resources (CPU core,
memory etc.) for a long time.
The occupation of computer resource may be disturbed other user's work,
and occurred some problems of servers due to concentrate processing.
For avoiding the above situation, we will warn the users. In addition,
please use the batch processing system and check the current status
to avoid the situations.
We will warn users who exceeded restriction of the quantity of the disk
used.

- NFS file system improvement (continuously)
We try to improve the performance of the NFS file system
(/mfst* partitions), continuously. We will inform the details later.
Please contact us when you feel something wrong with the NFS file
system.
- We will set up the network access control to the wired DHCP in
the open-use rooms.

サーバ・ワークステーション 停止 (定期メンテナンス)
ユーザの方々にはご迷惑をおかけしますが、宜しくお願いいたします。
共同利用PC と大判プリンタの一部は、メンテナンス中も利用可能です。

※特に記載が無い限り、全ての対話型／バッチ解析サーバ・端末WSが対象です。

今回のメンテナンスでは、NFS サーバ側の設定を修正いたします。
ご使用中に問題点などお気づきになった場合は、ご連絡ください。
・VPN 機器 SSL証明書更新
セキュリティ改善のため証明書を更新します。
もし接続に問題等が発生した場合は、ご連絡ください。
・STSDAS/TABLES (IRAF v2.16.1) の不具合修正

[定期データ削除の実施について]
毎月のメンテナンス時に、解析サーバ群のローカルディスクおよび、
NFS ディスク領域の定期データ削除を実施します。
重要なファイルはバックアップを取ることを強く推奨いたします。

・計算機リソースの使用について
対話型解析サーバ (anam*, anah*) において、少数のユーザで多くの CPU,
メモリ等の計算機リソースを長時間占有する事例が確認されております。
そのような状況は、他ユーザの作業に影響を及ぼしたり、処理集中による
サーバ等への不具合の原因になりますので、当該ユーザに対して注意／警告
等を出す場合があります。また、そのような事態を避けるために、バッチ
システムの利用や、リソース使用状況の確認をお願いいたします。
なお、ディスク使用量上限を超えたユーザに対しても、注意／警告を出して
いきますので、ご注意ください。
