!IRAF 2.16 will be installed into ana*

IRAF 2.16 will be installed into ana*

We have discussed that IRAF 2.16 will be installed into ana* early for
users and benchmark tests. We understand that it is premature to
replace 2.14 to 2.16 in all ana*, and we have investigate how both IRAF
2.14 and 2.16 are available in each ana*, however, it is difficult.

We will change before an benchmark test on June, 3 that IRAF 2.14 and
2.16 will be installed in the add number and the even number of ana*,
respectively, because it is necessary that IRAF 2.16 will be installed
to a part of ana* before the benchmark test.

IRAF version is changed in ADC analysis system (ana*)
- Date
June, 3 (Sun) (before the benchmark test)
ADC users will be able to use IRAF 2.16 in ana* after the periodic
maintenance (June,4 Mon)
- Configuration
IRAF 2.14: the add number of ana*  (ana01,02(*),03,05,07,09,11,13)
IRAF 2.16: the even number of ana* (ana04,06,08,10,12,14)
(*) The ana02 (Solaris) is still 2.14.

The all batch servers cls* are still IRAF 2.14 for the time being.

We are sorry that the configuration will be complex and the announcement
is late. Thank you for your cooperation to construct more powerful next
system.

解析システム IRAF 2.16 の導入について

天文データセンター解析システムのユーザーの皆様

解析システムへの IRAF 2.16 の導入につきましては、ユーザの皆様にとりまし
ても関心がおありだったかと思います。また、我々運用グループにとりまして
も、次期システム検討のためにも重要な案件でもありました。そこで、我々は
IRAF 2.16 の早期導入を目指して調査を続けてまいりました。

また現状では IRAF 2.14 を完全に 2.16 に乗り換えるには、まだ時期尚早であ
るとの認識から、各 ana* にて IRAF 2.14 と 2.16 を併存させる方法について
模索してきましたが、有効な方法が見つからない状況が続いております。

しかしながら、次期システム検討のためには IRAF 2.16 の導入を急ぐ必要があ
りましたので、6月3日のベンチマークテスト前に、下記のように ana* の奇数番
と偶数番ごとに、それぞれ、IRAF 2.14 と 2.16 を分けて導入することに致しま
した。

解析システム (ana*) IRAF バージョンの変更
　・適用日時
6月3日(日) ベンチマークテスト前
　　＃ユーザの皆様が 2.16 を使えるようになるのは、
　　　6月4日(月)の定期メンテナンス後になります。
　・変更後の構成
　　- IRAF 2.14 : 奇数機 (ana01,02(※),03,05,07,09,11,13)
　　- IRAF 2.16 : 偶数機 (ana04,06,08,10,12,14)
　　　※ana02 (Solaris) に関しては 2.14 になります。

なお、cls* に関しては、もうしばらく全て 2.14 のままで運用いたします。

複雑で混乱を招きかねない構成になりますが、冒頭にも申しましたように、より
強力な次期解析システムを構築するためにも、ユーザの皆様のご理解とご協力を
頂ければと思っております。また検討に時間がかかり、皆様へのご連絡が遅く
なってしまいましたことをお詫びいたします。
