[Problem] If you force-quit IDL(*), you may have trouble to restart it. [Cause] The IDL configuration file may be damaged due to the forced termination. As a result, the IDL will fail to initialize and cannot be started. [Workaround] The following two workarounds are available:  - Rename "~/IDLWorkspace"  - Rename "~/.idl" (*) The followings are how to force-quit IDL:  - Press the Ctrl+C on the command line  - Use the kill command   (use the option '-9' if it doesn't work without options.) Note that both of these procedures can damage the configuration file.
