The ALMA Project is a global partnership among East Asia (led by Japan), Europe, and North America in cooperation with the Republic of Chile to construct and operate a revolutionary ultra-high performance radio telescope consisting of fifty 12-m high-precision antennas and sixteen high-precision antennas called “ACA system” at an altitude of 5000 meters in the Chilean Andes.
